2020 Malbec

Carefully picked, foot stomped, hand plunged, naturally fermented and aged in neutral oak for 15 months — this full-bodied Malbec is anything but stock-standard. 

Description:

Deep purple in colour with a notable herbaceous hit in the nose, our 2020 Malbec has been described by many vino lovers as “intriguing.” It lives up to its reputation, too — packing a lingering punch with rich & smoky dark fruit characters (red and dark berries, plum & Blackboy peach) and chewy tannins, but also offering a light & salivating juiciness. 

The 2020 growing season was long with warm days & cool nights, creating a natural acidity and abundance of fruit concentration. In other words: the perfect storm for creating a vibrant, expressive, and thought-provoking new generation red. 

Details:

Grapes hailing from: Bridge Pā Triangle, Hawke’s Bay.  

Best served: Straight from the bottle, or even better in your decanter. 

Pairs beautifully with: A cheese platter, hearty steak or tomato pasta dish (don’t hold back on the parmesan).
